Welcome to my website... ...I'm sure you'll find it a worthwhile experience - interesting, exciting, challenging and cheaper than Amazon. I think it's interesting, exciting and challenging because it's all about me, and that's the kind of chap I am. Actually, it's not all about me - you won't find much about my shopping lists or what I had for my tea. It's really about my writing - where it comes from, what it looks like and what I do with it. But first of all, some basic information. My publisher's blurb says this: Ian Gray was born in South Yorkshire and educated in Durham and Leeds. He has taught in schools in Yorkshire and Lancashire for over thirty years and currently works in a high school on Merseyside. He lives in Greater Manchester with his wife Alison and daughter Sophie. To put a little flesh on these bones I initially taught English, but quickly switched to Drama, later taking a degree in that subject at Bretton Hall College. After moving across the Pennines I began teaching in the primary sector and began writing plays for that age group. Somewhere along the line I decided I'd like to do some proper writing and took an MA in Writing Studies at Edge Hill College. Since then I've been writing short stories, poetry, sketches and my daughter's homework. I've had bits and pieces published, but I don't make a fortune.
